Book tatkal ticket now, Pay later: IRCTC
IRCTC has announced that you can make the payment of tatkal tickets later.
Until now, this facility was available only for general reservations. For tatkal bookings, people had to pay via standard online payment gateways before the IRCTC portal confirmed the ticket.
People can also opt to have tatkal tickets delivered at their doorstep and can make payment via cash, debit card or credit cards.
How it works ?
The customer first need to register with irctc.payondelivery.co.in in order to avail the ‘pay on delivery’ option. Here customer need to tender either Adhaar card or PAN card details at the time of registration.
1) While booking the ticket on IRCTC web portal, the user needs to choose the ‘pay-on-delivery’ in the payment option
2) The digital delivery happens instantly via SMS /email. The collection happens within 24 hours of the booking
3) The customer can also pay online through a payment link that will be sent to them at time of booking
Please note that in case of refusal on part of the customer to pay for the ticket shall amount to its cancellation and the customer shall be liable to pay for the cancellation charges, failure of which shall invite strict action as per law and user account will be deactivated.
Transaction Charge : Rs. 90 + Applicable Taxes for TXN Amt upto Rs. 5000/- and Rs. 120 + Applicable Taxes for above
