Rescue opertions underway at Kaziranga National Park

Rescue operations are on in full swing at the Kaziranga national Park, a world heritage site 250 kms from Guwahati. Though the water level has started receding, the heavy  flooding in the past 8 days has left behind a trail of animal carcasses.

Many animals have perished in the floods, which began on July 5. The situation in the park is alarming with 70 - 80% of the Park being flooded
